BUZZARD & RAVEN ENQUIRY

Many thanks to all who have sent in reports of displaying birds. Records of birds seen in May and June are also needed to further clarify the picture. Birds that object to your presence by mewing are all most certainly nesting. The numbers of pairs of breeding Buzzards in some areas is amazing - there appears to be nine pairs in the Leighton/Warton Crag area. A few years ago there was two pairs at the most! So please keep the records coming in.

The same applies to Ravens- remember that some pairs are now nesting in trees so it is very easy to miss a pair so all sightings are welcome although it may be getting a bit late for this early nester, but records of family groups would be welcome.

Send all records to John Wilson 40 Church Hill Ave Warton Carnforth LA 5 9NU or

PHOTOS FOR ANNUAL REPORT

John Carter would love to have any good photos that you have of the non-common-or-garden birds that turned up last year. His address is in the Annual Report

DIGITAL PROJECTOR

Most speakers still use conventional slides and those who have had a digital presentation have brought their own projector. However, at the members' evening a digital projector would be valuable now that so many have digital cameras and the Committee will be considering getting one. However, if a member has access to one that they would be able to bring to the occasional meetings that would be very cost effective. Please contact a Committee member if you could help with this.
