Pelagic Birding: Search for sea birds aboard our luxury fishing boat ....
Discover the fantastic bird life of the Gambia and Senegal on one of our unforgettable trips.
A full day cruising the bluewater in search of true pelagic bird species. Alongside the trawlers or chumming you will encounter a huge range of sea going birds. (The boat comfortably holds six people)
We expect to see in the right season: Great ,Arctic, Pomerine, South polar and Longtailed Skuas, Corys, Great, Little and Sooty Sheawater, Sabines gull , Caspian, Royal and Lesser crested Terns, Grey Headed Gull and Northern Gannets....to name but a few.
There is still a lot to learn about the Pelagic possibilities of the Gambia but all of these are possible: Soft Plumaged (Feas) Petrel, Bulwers Petrel, Wilson's Petrel, White faced Petrel, Madeiran Storm Petrel, White tailed or Red-billed Tropic Bird, Brown Booby, Magnificent Frigatebird, Bridled and Sooty Terns...
Option 2
Saloum River Trip. This
is a 2 day excursion including Iles de Ouiseaux , Iles du Saloum and
the lower reaches of the Saloum river. Not to mention an overnight at
the beautiful 5 star Delta Niominka camp, which can only be described
as straight out of "Lord of the Rings"
This option includes hotel collection, boat hire, half board accommodation, soft drinks aboard, and an experienced bird guide.*
