Colombia, ProAves reserves and more 05/01/10-18/01/10

  • The key species at El Paujil is the critically endangered Blue-billed Curassow for which the reserve is named after. Seeing one however is not easy and even for a Curassow this is a particularly difficult species....Nigel Voaden reports.

North-East Colombia, November 2007

  • Only rivalled by Peru for being the country with the world’s biggest bird list, it is not only the sheer number of species that are impressive about Colombia, but also the extraordinary number of endemics found (69) within its boundaries: in this area it far outshines Peru or any other South American country other than Brazil....Jan Vermeulen reports.
