Collins Bird Guide
Lars Svensson: Buy from Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk

  • "Well, it has been much hyped but it is all true. This beats all other European guides by a significant margin. The songs and calls are extremely well notated, even though the pronunciation takes some getting used too. Many pictures for each species. Very information dense. Buy it. The best available bird identification book for Austria.

Recommended travel guides for Estonia

Lonely Planet Estonia,Latvia and Lithuania
John Noble, et al: Buy from Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk

  • Having found so little in the way of information about the Baltic States we were very reliant upon this book when travelling in Estonia. For the most part we found the book very reliable, although the maps were not particularly brilliant - the Tallin map being crammed onto one small page.
