A report from small river valley at Schlaubetal. ,

I was there at 16.04.2005 on bycicle tour.
This area located in federal country Brandenburg ( it is the most beautiful river valley in Brandenburg ).

The river flows through a lot of beech trees.

I went from Berlin 70 km by train to Frankfurt/ Oder and continue with private train company "Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn" to Muellrose ( another 15 km ).

Alternatively: You can go with train to next station behind Muellrose, it is called Mixdorf.

Natureparc Schlaubetal has 227 square kilometers . 1.100 different plants are known in this area ( also lots of orchids ).
700 different butterflies live there.
Almost 200 different kind of birds breed there e.g. Osprey and Black Storck.
Schlaubetal is the most north area of lizard Lacerta bilineata
