Showed a distinct head pattern with sharp 'lobes' and definite dark grey crown, very slight white feathering above bill [barely discernable; looked a most unreliable feature]. Underparts with buffish wash, feet/cere yellow-orange. From our vantage point on brow of hill, views were largely looking down on the bird, and although brief underwing views showed mottled grey/white, no discernible clean whitish leading edge to coverts were noted. Viewing distance 250-700 metres.
