Camp Corbett and Mountain Quail Camp are both situated in the Himalayan foothills of Kumaon, in the state of Uttaranchal, north India. Both Camps were built by and are owned and managed by the Anand family, who are experienced naturalists with long experience of living and working in the Kumaon region. You will be made most welcome!

Camp Corbett is located at the base of the Siwalik Hills near the village of Kaladhungi, about 25 kilometres east of Corbett Tiger Reserve and 12 miles south of Naini Tal.

The Camp is in a superb setting overlooking the River Boar and facing the Himalayan foothills. The mixed forest that surrounds Camp Corbett is still home to tigers, leopards and elephants, and over 300 species of birds. It is the perfect place for wildlife and birdwatching enthusiasts, and for experiencing the special atmosphere of an Indian jungle on foot.

Mountain Quail Camp (MQC) is located on a mountain ridge at an elevation of 2000 metres at Pangot, 10 kilometres west of the hill resort of Naini Tal. The Camp is in a very tranquil setting, surrounded by unspoiled oak, pine and rhododendron forest. MQC is about a 90 minute drive from Camp Corbett along a mountain road with spectacular views. MQC is the perfect place for mountain walks, pony trekking, birdwatching, and as a base for fishing trips and longer treks into the interior of Kumaon.

Please consider using Camp Corbett and Mountain Quail Camp in your itinerary. We have had hundreds of satisfied visitors since 1987, including many from the expatriate and diplomatic community in Delhi, although both Camps remain relatively unknown in the UK.

The Anand family are excellent hosts as well as experienced naturalists, and of course speak fluent English. Camp Corbett is only a 6 to7 hour drive or an overnight train ride from Delhi, so can easily be fitted in with trips to Ranthambhore, Bharatpur and Agra. We are a small independent family-run operation and would value your custom very highly!

Camp Corbett offers specialised itineraries for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts which include the terai and bhabar forests around Kaladhungi, the mountain forests around Pangot, and Corbett Tiger Reserve. We can also supply a detailed bird list for the Kaladhungi area. Further details on request.

Blaze-A-Trail Adventures, run by Siddharth Anand from Mountain Quail Camp, offer a comprehensive choice of itineraries in the Himalayan foothills which include trekking, white water rafting, pony treks and wildlife viewing. Further details on request.
