A Report from birdtours.co.uk |
Samos, June 2002,
We have just returned from a two week holiday on
Samos, before I went I visisted the Birdtours web
site and printed the Samos 2001 report
to take for reference.
We are not experts just keen birdwatchers when we have the time. I am sending
you a list of what we saw on our travels around Samos which I hope will be of
some interest to you. We stayed at the Dionysos studios which was close to the
Zeus appartments in Ireon.

On our second visit on the 17th the lakes were almost bone dry and looked like
salt flats. The only birds on the lake area were one adult and one recently
fledged young Black Winged Stilt
Other birds seen around the island were :-

I have probably missed a few common species out but as you can see we had quite
a good time for a couple of amateurs, as well as a fantastic annual holiday.
