Galley Bay area Antigua March 30th - April 6th, 2011

  • We had a week’s holiday at Galley Bay, which is situated to the west of the Antiguan capital St. John’s on the Five Islands peninsula. Galley Bay has its own large brackish lagoon which is within the hotel grounds and therefore fairly inaccessible to the wandering birder...Tony Payne reports.

Antigua Oct 27th to November 10th 2010

  • Later in the day I noted both Osprey with a fish in its talons and a Broad Winged Hawk over Jolly Harbour. On the beach Ann found two Wilson’s Plover and on returning to our room later in the afternoon I found three American Golden Plover on the cricket field....Chris Grimshaw reports

Antigua 7th - 21st July 1997

  • A couple of Carib Grackles were feeding outside the airport as we waited for a taxi. Reeling from our first experience of Antiguan roads, we recorded 2 Magnificent Frigatebirds, 2 Broad-winged Hawks, 8 Cattle Egrets and a Great White Egret on the way to the hotel.....
